Location Scouting

Last week, I went location scouting for the first time with the sound team (my twin and one of my friends) as well as another one of my friends who tagged along. Unfortunately, I was sick when we were going over preproduction, so I wasn’t able to help with the breakdown sheets like I had wanted to.

We went scouting around campus for a few different settings: the house of a famous actress, a kitchen (the fancier the better, this is for the same actress character), and some exterior house shots. I suggested that we take photos of the various locations so we can review them later and figure out which would be best for shooting.

We’re considering using a section of this building for the actress’s upscale house (it looks like a manor)
Another house exterior that doesn’t look quite as over-the-top
Another option for an exterior entrance
A more woodsy, homey-feeling house exterior (not a lot of traffic!)
The bare trees could be nice for the type of creepy story we’re trying to tell
If we use this location, my friend said that a tracking shot would look nice
Here are two options for a kitchen table (I like the idea of using the smaller table in the corner of the room to not reveal how big the room is)
We were considering this location for the symbolism of the painting
We had the good fortune to find a piano since the actress character is a singer
